The Guardian / Observer Picture Desk have requested six of my river swimming images for use in the Travel Section and have used one online and two in the print edition. See the online article - Emma's Eccentric Britain: River Swimming, Carmarthenshire here.
Currently up in the Peak District helping me mate. Spent the day taking product photos for Soapy - website www.coconutblush.co.uk - natural olive oil soaps and bath products hand made in the heart of the Peak District. The product photos have now been uploaded by Soapy's web designer. Find a selection of them in an album here.
SBDCC Llandysul bunkhouse weekend now posted here. With an ISO up to 25,400 I was getting piccys that the D80 could never achieve as this example here shows - beware, 10.5mB download. Taken at dusk with a 1/160th shutter speed. With the D80 I wouldn't have even switched on my camera.
Have decided to upgrade my camera body and so invested in a D7000. The canoe club is up at Llandysul for one of our annual trips so will give it a try out.
One piccys posted as a headline on the unofficial canoe slalom website has generated ?? hits in ?? days.

Now the end of October and decided it was about time I added my planning consultancy portfolio to my website. Find it here.
Have had a busy couple of months for a variety of reasons.
Managed to get to the Serpent's Tail slalom over the weekend of 22 & 23 October. The Prem event on the Saturday is here and the Sunday Div 1 here. Now sending a couple of headline piccys to Slalom UK which will hopefully lead to lots of hits on my website.
Whilst up there took some piccys of a WWSR course at the Tail on the Friday, mainly because of a girl with a very pretty smile - hiya Lisa x - and the album of mine and Ian's piccys is here which includes one of the best piccys I've taken for a while here.
Blog News - September 2011
Have now uploaded a few albums taken on Widemouth Beach - Saturday and Sunday general boats here and here. Surf kayaks here.
Our club's annual visit to Bude staying at one of my favourite campsites - Efford Down Farm. Thursday was beautiful weather so I walked to Crackington Haven from the campsite - it's much further and up & down than it looks on the map. Starting a new album of photos taken on walks. Find the first one here.

Have had a catchup weekend with Aldon Horse Trials 19 March here & 20 March here, South West Dressage Group at Aldon 10 April here and Llandysul 2 / 3 Double from 21 & 22 May here. So have a look if any of these interest you.
Somerset Tree Surgeons (Langport) website now live here.
The slalom season has been under way for a couple of months now. Just got back from a great event at Ironbridge. It was good to see this slalom back on the calender after a break of several years due to the site sliding slowly into the river. Had an excellent curry on the Saturday night here.
Currently working on the Ironbridge slalom photo albums - under construction here.
I'll then post up Llandysul 2/3 in held earlier in May.

Gallery of the Serpents Tail slalom 23/24 October here.
Blog News - October 2010
Had a few days around Llangollen for the Serpents Tail slalom late October. Found a great campsite here right next to the ancient ruins of Valle Crusis Abbey. Will upload photo albums shortly.
Just back from Llandysul's Div 1 & 2 slalom. A good weekend and more importantly, sunny and warm in Wales in October? A few photo albums uploaded and can be found here.
As they say, a picture tells a thousand words. Well, one photograph of Mallory Franklin winning the C1W McConkey slalom on www.canoeslalom.co.uk generated in a couple of days 250 visitors to the HPP McConkey slalom photo albums on my website.
Blog News - September 2010
Went up to the Paul McConkey Slalom at Holme Pierrepont over the weekend of 18th and 19th. This is a championship format premier slalom run over the two days with a Div 1 on the Sunday. A sizeable gallery of photos can be found here.
Hoping that Youth Freestyle will get around to posting a link to the Cardiff Bay Youth Frestyle event I photographed on 15 Aug. My album is here.
Have just licenced The Southern Reporter to use one of my Cardiff Prem photos for an article about Alice Haining (K1W J16), a rising junior paddler. Not a great amount of money, but another step forward on the commercial side of photography.
Photos of the SBDCC surf weekend uploaded here. On the Thursday the surf was 6' to 7' clean, few surfers and a sunny sky. The few of us there made the most of the conditions. Over the weekend the surf slowly dropped to 3' by Sunday and the cloud cover increased. Everyone took wet tents home. As usual we stay at a superbly located 28 day no planning campsite, Efford Down Farm which is now closed to the public until next August. Bookmark it for summer 2011.
Photos of the August Bank Holiday NUCC Reunion at Skern Lodge, Appledore uploaded here
Now back from a great Bude surfing weekend with SBDCC and spent Monday rebuilding my laptop and reloading most of the software. Back in business soon.
Blog News - August 2010
31 Aug - laptop has just died and won't reboot so will have to wait until next week when I get back home from a SBDCC surf weekend at Bude. No more posting or uploads until then. Still the sun is shining and the surf forecast looks good.
Have just had a great Notts Uni Canoe Club Reunion at Skern Lodge, Appledore meeting up with people from the 1975 to 1982 era, reminiscing over paddling exploits, old photos & slides and catching up with what every body has been doing since graduating. Will upload some of my piccys from the weekend soon.
On the way back from Llandysul I called into Cardiff International White Water Centre to talk about photographing rafts. By chance there was a Marie Curie Cancer Care charity raft about to go down the course. As no press were there I offered to take some photos for them.
Now back home from Llandysul which was a great event despite waking up on Friday morning to find a big puddle in my tent and my gazebo in pieces from that nights big storm. 22 albums and over 1,300 photos here. Found my new Sigma 150-500mm zoom to be excellent hand held at 1/300th of a second or more. Sitting at gate 10 and taking full boat size pictures at gate 4 was good.
Currently in Llandysul for their River Festival 19th to 22nd Aug. Web page under construction here
A few rafting photos from Cardiff 15 Aug added here
Cardiff Bay Youth Freestyle 15 Aug is now fully uploaded here
Invested in a Sigma 150-500mm zoom lense and tried it out on a couple of club nights on the lake. Will post the results soon.
New gallery taken by Ian Robson for the Cardiff Bay Prem slalom 11 July added here
