Llandysul River Festival 2010 - 19 to 22 August

I was commissioned by Llandysul Paddlers Outdoor Education Centre to act as Official Photographer for the event last year and they have invited me back. My objective is not to get a photo of every one doing every thing, but to compile a collection of all aspects of the event for Llandysul Paddlers to use in future promotions, marketing and grant application. This web page and the photo albums also sets out the story in pictures rather than words of how the event unfolds.

The event was very successful with over 150 participants, 40 coaches & helpers and countless volunteers, family and friends. The Div 3/4 slalom competition saw an impressive 82 competitors. The River Festival is still the best value event that I know about.

I've split the event photographs into a total of 22 photo albums to make your search a little easier, rather than having to wade though over 1,300 images. So scroll down the page until you find an album that interests you. Each album opens in a new window.

I have also uploaded five albums from Ian Robson (bridge jumping, kayaks, open canadians, rafts and river swimming). If you have any decent, comparable or better still better photos that you want to share then send them to me and I'll host them for a fuller picture of the River Festival. Copyright will remain with you and the photos will be watermarked accordingly. I will only upload at a max of 800x800 pixels.

The next River Festival is 18th to 21st August 2011. I'll see you there.

All images are from an original source file of 3872x2592 in jpeg format. They are posted at a maximum size of 800x800.  

Most images will print up to A1 size at least, that is poster size - see an original high quality image here. Some on the river had to be taken using a high ISO to get a fast shutter speed which makes them more grainy - see a sample here. I did a test print at 15" x 10" and the quality is quite good, but I wouldn't want to go up to A1 size as it would be to grainy. The test print was at Jessops next day printing and only cost £3.50.

If you want to purchase a digital image, then please contact me to discuss. I will need the digital image file name(s) DSC_???? and how you intend to use the digital image i.e. facebook, own website, high quality poster sized prints etc.

Prices are £16 per bib number for the slalom, both runs, all images on a cd postage included.

Prices for the River Festival are £5 per image to a max of 3 images emailed.

Four or more images burnt to a cd and posted are £4 per image plus £5 postage and packing.

Whilst all digital images from the photo galleries will be sold without copyright water marking, copyright remains with Geoff Allen.  Images are sold on the basis that they will only be used for personal and family use. No commercial or competition use is permitted.
